Sir.

Referring to your Despatch No. 59 of the 26th. February, 1916, I have the honour to forward a copy of a report by Mr. Hazeland, First Police Magistrate, regarding the acquittal of Heckrath and the two women who accompanied him,

2.

This Government has no information regarding the "H. N. Hinton" referred to in your telegram of the 2nd. Decem- -ber. Heckrath was arrested under his own name before the receipt of that telegram. His description, shown in the attached photograph of his passport, tallies broadly with the description communicated by you, and he may perhaps have used the name Hinton at the

Piccadilly Hotel.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient,

humble servant,

Amaz

Governor, &c..

!

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

ANDREW BONAR LAW, M.P.,

BC..
